Arenc, MTGlobal MANAGER DMC SPAIN

What are the main attractions that set Spain apart in this industry?

Spain is one of the most well-rounded destinations for any company looking to organize corporate events, conferences, or incentive trips. At MTGlobal’s Destination Management Company (DMC) in Spain, we know that the combination of coastline, mountains, rich history, world-class cuisine, and excellent international connectivity is hard to beat.

But what truly sets Spain apart in the MICE industry is the professionalism and experience of the people working in it. I’ve been in this field for 22 years, and I can confidently say that few countries offer what Spain brings to the table across the board—making it an international benchmark for events, conferences, and incentive travel.

How do you design exclusive experiences for your clients?

As a DMC in Spain, creating exclusive experiences for our clients is part of our DNA.

Every proposal is crafted with passion, patience, and—above all—active listening and a strong ability to adapt to each client. We invest a great deal of time turning goals into unforgettable experiences.

The deep destination knowledge we have at the MTGlobal DMC team, our team’s commitment, and our close collaboration with local suppliers and strategic partners allow us to confidently say that yes, we deliver truly authentic and fully personalized experiences. This synergy is also key to creating successful MICE events—and it’s one of the things that sets us apart.

What are the key strengths of MTGlobal DMC?

In a complex industry like Destination Management Companies (DMC), there are many factors to consider.

But at MTGlobal DMC, we’re clear on what matters most: putting ourselves in the client’s shoes, embracing both their operational and cultural goals, and staying one step ahead by anticipating their needs and always providing a solution. Another key element is always having a Plan B—because strategic planning, flexibility, and experience allow us to deliver excellence in every event, even when the unexpected happens.

How do you stay aligned with industry trends?

At MTGlobal, staying on top of trends is essential to who we are as a 360º company—we offer event planning, conferences, incentive trips, corporate and business travel, transfers, and of course, DMC Spain services.

One of the key factors that helps us stay ahead of trends is having our own in-house production team, which is always up to date with the latest technological innovations applied to events and experiences.

Another key is the smooth communication between our departments, which allows us to coordinate seamlessly and deliver the trust, dedication, and creative inspiration that set us apart. Coming together as a team keeps us at the forefront of such a dynamic market and enables us to carry out every step of the event planning process in an agile and efficient way.

When it comes to sustainability, do you follow responsible and sustainable practices?

MTGlobal is a company that adapts every day to sustainability and corporate social responsibility regulations. We aim to focus on actions that respect the environment, well-being, and human rights. To do so, we engage in several initiatives, such as Save the Children, Bosque Travel Advisors, and Mensajeros de la Paz.

We also prioritize practices like sourcing locally, implementing energy-saving measures, and promoting awareness and education around environmental care and sustainability.

What advice would you give to someone looking for specialized DMC management?

To anyone looking for specialized DMC management in Spain, I’d say the most important thing is to surround yourself with experienced professionals who have deep, local knowledge of the destination. Our team, for example, is physically based in Málaga, Madrid, Barcelona, and the Canary Islands—covering not just these regions, but the whole of Spain.

A DMC with both professional and local experience ensures flawless execution, along with the ability to secure exclusive venues and access trusted local suppliers with ease.

Because of this in-depth knowledge, it’s essential for the client to trust the suggestions of the DMC team in order to optimize every moment and every detail.

The difference between a successful event and an extraordinary experience comes down to local experts who’ve been doing this for years—and who genuinely love what they do.

What does it mean to you to work in a country with such rich cultural and geographical diversity?

I consider myself very lucky to live and work in Spain. I have the privilege of living in two of the most beautiful cities in the country—Málaga and Barcelona—which are also key destinations in the MICE industry.

Spain’s cultural and geographical diversity allows us to work in an inspiring and ever-evolving environment—surrounded by both tradition and innovation in equal measure. On top of that, we’re lucky to be immersed in breathtaking landscapes and a unique culture that fuels an unmatched motivation to truly feel our country.

And on top of that, I’m lucky to be part of MTGlobal—the best company I could possibly be with.

In a few words, I’m a lucky guy.

What is Arenc like as a DMC manager in Spain?

I was a professional basketball player, and I’ve always admired coaches who were demanding yet fair—approachable, but clear in their vision. I try to do everything I can to be a good leader by setting an example and bringing those same qualities into what I do and how I do it: transparency, clarity, approachability, and a strong attention to detail.

And on a personal level?

I’m a down-to-earth and approachable person. My family is everything to me, and even though I wish I could spend more time with them, I do my best to make sure the time we have together is meaningful. Having my family spread across three different cities isn’t easy, but with lots of love, care, and understanding, everything works out.
