Renfe starts up the new AVLO trains in Galicia and Asturias

The railway company offers more than eight million seats this summer to travel on its Alta Velocidad and Media Distancia trains.

The new AVLO train services that have started operating between Madrid, Galicia and Asturias have increased the number of seats available on these routes to 8,000 in Galicia and nearly 10,400 in Asturias per week. The trains that will run on these routes between the capital and two of the most demanded autonomous communities of our country are of the S106 series with 581 seats, the maximum capacity of the Spanish railway market.

A direct Alvia to Avilés departing from Madrid

Among the new places that Renfe has launched to reach Asturias, the incorporation of a new direct Alvia service to Avilés is highlighted. A route that will leave Madrid at 9:15 am and will arrive in Avilés at 1:04 pm. Each return flight will be at 17:14 with arrival in Madrid at 21:09 from Sunday to Friday. This commercial offer will also benefit those who have to reach cities in Castilla y León such as Palencia, Valladolid, León or Segovia.

With this new commercial strategy of Renfe, Galicia obtains the implementation of a daily round-trip AVLO service that will alternate its origin and destination between A Coruña-Madrid and Vigo-Madrid. A route that includes Santiago de Compostela and stops in Segovia, Medina del Campo, Zamora, Sanabria, A Gudiña, Ourense, Vilagarcía de Arousa and Pontevedra.

In turn, Renfe will increase connections between Castilla y León and Valencia by doubling the capacity of High Speed and Long Distance trains. Thus, the Valencian Community and Castilla y León will have a frequency of four AVE trains per day, two in each direction. An AVE between Valencia and Burgos and an Alvia between Alicante and León.
