Madrid, a vibrant city full of history, has added another treasure to its extensive cultural heritage with the recognition of the Landscape of Light as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Madrid desde el aire

This emblematic space not only stands out for its natural beauty and rich biodiversity, but also for being an epicenter of art, science and culture since the Age of Enlightenment. In this post, MTGlobal DMC invites you to explore the fascinating history and key elements that make this urban landscape a true symbol of enlightenment and modernity in the heart of Spain.

A total of 93 monuments shape one of the most incredible corners of the capital of Spain. A perfect place to walk around and let yourself be carried away by each and every one of the stories that shape these monuments that today are part of the urban landscape of Madrid. A walk that starts at Plaza de Cibeles and ends at Atocha Station. A tour of some of the points of interest of an enclave that was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2019.

Let us take you to some of those places you won’t forget. Thanks to our team of professionals, you will live incomparable experiences. Can you imagine holding a gala dinner at the Prado Museum or a private cocktail party at the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum? Holding any type of MICE event at Casa de América? To know each of the species, some of them unique in the world, found in the Royal Botanical Garden? How about going inside the Reina Sofía and tasting the gastronomy of its haute cuisine restaurant? All this and much more, only with MTGlobal DMC. Where? In Madrid, the best MICE destination in the world.

Puerta de Alcalá

One of the most visited points of this Landscape of Light is the Puerta de Alcalá, one of the ancient royal gates that gave access to the city. Built at the end of the 18th century during the reign of Carlos III, the Puerta de Alcalá is the point where we begin our journey through a magical itinerary through the center of Madrid.

Retiro Pond

Throughout this park, once owned by the royal family, you will find places like its pond (presided over by the majestic monument to Alfonso XII), the Crystal Palace, the statue of the Fallen Angel and countless corners where you can get away from the bustle of the city before enjoying, for example, the best cuisine in the city.

Royal Botanical Garden

Founded in 1775 by King Ferdinand VII, the Royal Botanical Garden was moved to this location in 1781. Today it is the epicenter of the Landscape of Light and, with MTGlobal DMC, you will be able to visit its impressive plant collection, its terraces and learn about the conservation work carried out by one of the most important institutions in our country.

Reina Sofia National Museum and Art Center

This museum, the Reina Sofia, is one of the most celebrated in this Landscape of Light. Inside you will find rooms to hold MICE events, the famous NuBel restaurant and a gallery full of masterpieces of contemporary art that have defined the identity of one of the most important museums in Madrid and the Spanish artistic ensemble.

Prado Museum

This is one of the most important museums in the world. One of the most respected and valued art collections. The Prado Museum houses works by Velázquez, Goya, Rubens, Titian, Bosch, Rembrandt and a very long etcetera that would make this video last two and a half days. Inside, MTGlobal DMC reserves spaces for gala dinners or a private visit.

Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum

In the middle of this Landscape of Light is the Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum. It is a collection of art that spans the centuries. Together with the Prado Museum and the Reina Sofia, they form a perfect triangle worth visiting. At the Thyssen-Bornemisza, you can also make private visits and celebrate, for example, a cocktail party in its imposing central hall.

Cibeles Square

This square is one of the central axes of the city. Around it are the City Hall, the Bank of Spain and the Casa de America. Three institutions that make this enclave of Madrid one of the most photographed in the city. This is one of the corners where the Landscape of Light becomes a reality.

Círculo de Bellas Artes and Metrópolis Building

The Landscape of Light is completed by a total of 93 monuments of which we have only shown you a small sample. We would like to end with two majestic buildings that are true icons, not only of the Landscape of Light, but also of the city of Madrid: the Metropolis building and the Círculo de Bellas Artes. Inaugurated in 1911 and 1880 respectively, both witnessed the life of the city during the vibrant beginning of the 20th century.

MTGlobal DMC invites you to take a tour that our team has designed to show you some of the iconic buildings that have made Madrid one of the most visited cities in the world. Enter the Landscape of Light with MTGlobal DMC! Contact us here or at [email protected]
