Granada, a meeting of cultures

The city of Granada is one of the most special places in Andalusia. MTGlobal DMC invites you to experience its monumental buildings and iconic sites.

When talking about Granada, the first thing that comes to mind is the Alhambra. The silhouette of this monument, the first to be declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO on Spanish soil in 1984, has given worldwide fame to a city full of places worth discovering.

If you come with MTGlobal DMC, we will take you to see some of the highlights of a unique city in the world. You can admire the Palace of Charles V, the Albaicín, the Generalife, look out from the Mirador de San Nicolás while listening to an improvised flamenco show, let yourself be carried away by the traces of the Nasrid kingdom and the Muslim presence in its neighborhoods and its historic center…

And Granada is not only history and architecture from the times of the Muslim presence in the Iberian Peninsula. It is also the search for the roots of a music, flamenco, which has given worldwide fame to this land. And not only can you find the sound of cantaores like Enrique Morente. You can enjoy all those composers who have come to Granada to seek inspiration for their masterpieces: Manuel de Falla or Isaac Albéniz, Joe Strummer… Writers like Washington Irving or painters like Alonso Cano or Mariano Fortuny. From the lands of Granada is born the art of a universal granaíno like Federico García Lorca.

And yet, this is just a small picture of what awaits you on your visit to Granada. Spaces and estates for MICE events, congress and convention centers, routes through natural landscapes, teambuilding activities, tapas tours, flamenco… One of the routes we propose is the Mozarabic Way, a pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela that begins in the south of the peninsula. The term “Mozarabic” refers to the influence of this culture on the people who have inhabited this territory over the centuries.

Upon the group’s arrival, MTGlobal DMC proposes a visit to the city of Granada, getting to know its corners and streets, going into its typical stores, tasting its gastronomy and dining in the historic center before resting in the chosen accommodation. After visiting the Alhambra and gawking at one of the most impressive architectural wonders of our country, the group can enter the Royal Chapel to see the tomb of the Catholic Monarchs. In addition, and due to its proximity, a visit to the Cathedral of Granada is a recommended option.

After soaking up the magic of the city, it is time to begin the journey along the Mozarabic Way. From the Plaza de Isabel La Católica to the town of Moclín, a picturesque village located in the middle of the route. From Moclín, the road continues to Alcalá La Real. Until the last stop, the group encounters places such as Olivares, Valenzuela and Ribera Baja. Finally, the impressive Alcalá Castle welcomes the group as they are carried away by the magic of its legends. After the experience, the return to Granada will have provided the group with inspiration, beautiful scenery and activities to enjoy a charming part of Andalusia.
