Between Atocha and Moratín streets, the hotel chain inaugurates a hotel that pays homage to the fine arts.
In the heart of the capital’s Barrio de las Letras, the Casa de las Artes Meliá Collection is a tribute to the cultural and creative richness of Madrid, while at the same time being located in a fundamental artistic axis of the city. The aim of this establishment is to become a place of reference for visitors seeking a unique and exclusive lodging experience in the heart of the city center and through which to connect with the vibrant cultural life of Madrid.
A decoration based on classic Spanish literature
Thanks to the work of architect Álvaro Sans and interior designer Adriana Sans, from the ASAH studio, in a joint effort with Meliá Hotels International, the Casa de las Artes Meliá Collection venerates, through its decoration, the literature of Miguel de Cervantes, the neighborhood’s most illustrious neighbor. The author of The Ingenious Hidalgo Don Quixote of La Mancha is the paradigm of the modern novel and has been the main source of inspiration for the hotel’s decorative narrative. Rooms decorated with engravings that Gustave Doré made for the special edition of Don Quixote published in 1869.
Total cultural immersion
A program of activities and entertainment for its guests so that they are in contact with each and every one of the seven arts through workshops, ephemeral exhibitions, film series, etc. Among all the cultural spaces, a movie theater inspired by the screening rooms of the 50’s stands out, allowing guests to feel as if they were in the projections of the great studios of the golden age of the seventh art.
A library will delight reading lovers, who will be able to relax among its shelves in a serene, peaceful and extremely hospitable atmosphere. A fitness center will also keep the mind and body active. An original space within this place of exercise pays tribute to ballet, another of the arts represented in this original and exclusive establishment.
High altitude gastronomy
Inside the Casa de las Artes Meliá Collection, MACHÉ, a restaurant whose name is inspired by one of the visual arts, is open to the public. In this way, we seek to enrich the cultural experience with the gastronomic experience. The restaurant seeks to provoke in its diners the sensation of being in an unforgettable evening. Beautiful stained glass windows and high ceilings will be the perfect accompaniment to a dining experience steeped in history. The stained glass windows are the work of the Maumejean Brothers, a renowned workshop that has worked in places like the Bank of Spain or the Cathedral of Seville.
An opening that aspires to become a point of reference in the city, an artistic and cultural place to be for all those travelers who land or arrive in Madrid looking for inspiring experiences with which to enjoy the hectic cultural life of the Spanish capital.
